Frequently Asked Questions

How will I be received as a first time visitor?

All our visitors are greeted with a warm “Good morning!” by many of our disciples, worship assistants and the pastor.  You won’t be expected to stand up or feel uncomfortable as our guest.  You will be invited to join in coffee and donuts in our fellowship center and share in one of our adult classes.  You will be invited to
share contact information, so we can send you information about who we are at St. Paul and invite you to consider us as your spiritual home if you are seeking a church.  If not, we will gratefully thank you for visiting and worshiping with us.  We want you to know we are thankful for your coming to share in our love for Christ and hope we’ll see you again.

How should I dress for worship?

Worship at St. Paul focuses on the Word of God, not a fashion show.  Both our worship celebrations have a variety of attire from very casual to comfortably formal and everything in between.  We’d rather have you h
ere in cutoffs and sandals than not at all.  Come as you are prepared to celebrate Jesus in worship with others who are passionate about Christ.

Who attends this church?

St. Paul has Christians from almost every background and every age group.  On any given Sunday, about 300 believers gather to hear the Word of God from Scripture proclaimed and taught so as to take something with them into the coming week.  The people who worship and serve here do so because they desire to follow Jesus.  There’s room for you too!

Where is St. Paul theologically?

St. Paul is a fellowship of believers that hold to the Bible as the true Word of God and the Lutheran Confessions as a right interpretation of that Word.  We believe that God’s Word is the source and norm for all doctrine and practice in our lives.  We are Lutheran in our understanding and heritage, even as we are respectful of other Christians and their beliefs.  As a congregation in Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) we join with other like minded congregations in an association, not a new denomination, that seeks to live by Christ’s commission to go into the world making disciples of all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Can I share in the Lord’s Supper at St. Paul?

As Lutherans, we believe that our Lord is truly present in the bread and wine as His words proclaim.  We trust in His promises that through the Sacrament of Holy Communion we receive the forgiveness of sins.  We share in the frequent use of this Means of Grace because the Lord has commanded us to do so.  At St. Paul, we welcome all people who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and invite them to share in His Supper.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to speak to our pastor.

If I want to join St. Paul, what steps are necessary?
