Prayer Shawls
Committee Members:
Purpose: The Prayer Shawl Ministry seeks to comfort those who are suffering from a death, an illness, or emotional distress with shawls made, prayed over, blessed by the pastor, and given to those who need to know that they are loved by God and His people. The Ministry is open to anyone who loves to crochet or knit and to anyone who wants to learn.
Regular Meeting Place & Time: St. Paul Heritage Room next to the church office - the second Thursday of every other month, at 1:30 PM. For 2020, the first meeting was held on January 9, and the next meeting will be the second Thursday in March, which will be March 12th. The remainder of the meetings, in 2020, will be in May, July, September, and November – always the second Thursday of each of these months.
How you can help: Be a part of the ministry, learn to knit or crochet, or take a prayer shawl and give to someone who is hurting.
Additional information: Since our beginning in 2001, we have given away 480 prayer shawls. We have sent numerous shawls to the families of men and women in Texas who have died defending our country. This program is called “Prayer Shawls for Fallen Soldiers”.
